Media Release TBNZ CEO & Chair

On 20 December 2017 Annabelle Swain stepped down as TBNZ CEO after two and a half years in the role.  We thank Belle for the countless hours she put into our sport over that period.

The Board has endeavoured to find a replacement for Belle over the last six months, unfortunately no member has stepped up to the plate to lead our sport forward.  It was agreed in November that Keith Rankin, TBNZ Chair would take over as acting CEO with support from the Board until a replacement could be found.  Belle and Keith commenced the handover process immediately.  In late December Keith received medical advice that he should not continue as Chair, acting CEO or as a Director of TBNZ.  The Board reluctantly accepted Keith’s resignation from acting CEO and Chair, but are pleased to advise that Keith agreed to remain on the Board for the time being.

Subsequently, I have been appointed Chair of TBNZ.  I have made it clear to the Board that I don’t have the time to commit to being CEO, even in a short term, acting role.  Accordingly, TBNZ is currently operating without a CEO, with the Board and Management Team offering reduced services to the membership.  We are continuing to seek an appropriately qualified member to take on the CEO role, whilst also considering any options that would reduce the commitment of our valuable volunteers.

We are also seeking an Administration Manager and a Finance Manager.  Stephen Penney has taking on the acting Finance Manager role until such time as a replacement can be found, but we continue to operate without an Administration Manager.

We thank the membership for their ongoing support and understanding through this difficult time and look forward to hearing from anyone who is willing to contribute to the development of our sport.
